Life under the Roof This project is a new four-year university founded by Kanagawa Prefecture. In order to create a clear identity and sense of place, and to produce a syntactical unity to the campus architecture and the various spaces that connect them, we convinced of a majestic roof to reflect the presence of the architecture and provide a strong symbolism to the place. We matched both the overall design and individual elements of the architecture to the keywords-“Eco campus”“safety campus”“Barrier-free campus”and “sustainable campus” , and create a system that would unify the design concept. The university is comprised of two wings: a research and education wing and welfare wing . The entire research and education wing and the roof are designed with vibration isolation structure. Creating plaza with a large roof cover that interiorizes the space between two wings. The impressions of the spaces created by the layering of elements, as well as the scenery and activities that will develop in the space, will transform the campus into an urban landscape. －2004 BCS prize－ |

Brief description of project |
The Tokyo Shiodome Building is a high-rise building complex that has been completed in the final block of the Shiodome Redevelopment D Zone. The building has a three-layer structure, containing shops, offices and a hotel. The commercial zone is in the lower levels, contributing to the convenience and activation of the surrounding town. The facade has a simple structure, with a white granite grid frame comprising two floors in a single module for the office part, and horizontal continuous windows of green glass curtain walls for the hotel part, with a symbolic and fresh expression. |

Design Concept: It participated in the planning as all employees in this company. As a result, it succeeded in fostering the character that the employee was able to participate in management voluntarily. The first floor is a project design room, a processing room, and the second floor has the company business headquarters. The third floor has the convention hall and the public welfare room. Of each does the space composition to which people's consideration can organically link up with it by a fresh unrestricted blowing omission. The design of a soft Carbotion roof is a symbol of safety and safety. The landscape design in this building was assumed to be a design that did not lose a human scale feeling in a regional community and caused the identity as the jewel manufacturer. This building is an integrated distribution center located in the harbor district in Nahashinko. This facility has the capacity for 5,000 palettes on its automated storage and retrieval system. The functionality and safety were valued based on the physical distribution system and , in addition, "...kindhearted as soon as ... softeness" is considered in the design of not only functionality but also the ladscaping. The facility was considered in an internal office room. |

Brief description of project |
This project was awarded the 2005 Prize of Architectural Institute of Japan. The project cosists of two buildings. One is the club house of the Industry Club of Japan, which was originaly completed in 1920. The club house was preserved and restored. Then seismic dampers were installed under the club house. The other is a new headquarters building of Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking, which is a high-teck skyscraper. In collaboration with the interior designer in the USA, the lighting designer in the UK and the landscape architect in Japan, this huge and complicated project was completed in 2003. |
